Aurangabad; 12th August 2019. Anwar Khan Bismilla Khan, a philanthropist and Director of Indian Institute of Medical Science and Research, Badnapur, Aurangabad, took the initiative to provide Medical Aid to the flood affected areas of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara today. Anwar Khan stated that today on occasion of Eid, in our happiness, we can’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this natural calamity, in their time of grief. 16 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra as heavy rains and overflowing rivers swamped five districts which includes the flood affected areas of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara, displacing more than 1,40,000 people in last few days. Fully equipped Ambulance with medicines and team of expert doctors from Indian Institute of Medical Science and Research, Badnapur, Aurangabad, has left for Kolhapur today. Member of Parliament Imtiaz Jaleel flagged off the ambulance today at 5:30 pm. Prominent personalities of the city, Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui, Dr. Zahed Zaheer, Abdul Rehman, Maulana Abdul Rasheed Madni, Mufti Shoeb Al Qasmi, Sameer Abdul Sajid, Mohd. Ziyauddin, Asif Khan, Fayyaz Khan, Wasim Raja, Rehan Khan, Riyaz Khan, Zubair Nadwi, Wiqar Ahmed, Sohail Zakiuddin and others displayed their support to this cause by being present for this occasion. Anwar Khan also assured that as per the requirement they will be sending more relief aids to the flood affected areas soon.
